Rhizome Two: Paired
The second rhizome movie template. This one plays two videos alongside each other in the one video window while also providing individual controllers for each of the video panes.
This rhizome template allows you to create a movie that has two individual video tracks. These are played alongside each other in the one QuickTime Player window. Each will begin playing automatically, and will loop. There are controllers for each of the videos so users can stop, play, rewind and so on each video. There is no control over volume so if your videos have sound, and if both are playing, then both soundtracks will be heard.
To use download the zip attachment (below), decompress. Edit the associated XML file (do not rename this file) and place the full URLs for the videos you want to show in the XML file. Upload this and the movie file to your web server and embed in the usual way.
This template is to let you experiment with forms of online video that look beyond simply imitating existing TV or film but allow the use of some of the affordances of what I have, in other places, described as softvideo.
