This site uses GoogleMaps, GPS and biometric data to map the position of four riders live during the Tour de France. It includes power (watts as measured via force on the cranks), speed, heartrate, speed, distance covered and then some sort of stress metric. This just poses, shows, melds a pile of questions about liveness, the net, telematic practice and media. To think about another day, I’m actually watching it live on tv.
The research blog of Adrian Miles. Adrian Miles is a Senior Lecturer in New Media and currently the Program Director of the labsome Honours research studio at RMIT, in Melbourne, Australia. He has also been a senior new media researcher in the InterMedia Lab at the University of Bergen, Norway. He is very interested in the relation between hypertext and networked interactive video. Adrian's research interests include softvideo, online video, hypertext and hypermedia, appropriate pedagogies for new media education, digital poetics, and the use of Deleuze's cinema philosophy in the context of digital poetics and online interactive video.
