This material was shot while on the footage in Brugge, in Belgium.

This is the first in a series of three iterations of this project. This is another photo movie, but unlike the Atomium work here you simply mouse into the video to toggle between an image and the movie. In addition some of the images are text files (with a transparency) so that the video continues while you can read the text. The sequence in which the images run is fixed, which is something I experimented with in the second and third iterations.

I could have had the video pause when an image was being shown, but I liked the insistence of having it continue to run under the images so that you knew there was video you did not see, could not see, if you wanted to view the images. Sort of a way of insisting on the way video occupies time, but also wanting to the work to be recalcatrant to some extent for you.
