Spirale. (1975) Mattelart is professor of communication and
information sciences at the Université de Haute-Bretagne. He has
written Multinational Corporations and the Control of Culture (1979),
Advertising International (1991), Rethinking Media Theory (1992) with
Michèle Mattelart, and Mapping World Communication: War,
Progress, Culture (1994). He has had significant involvement in issues
of communication infrastructure and theory and the third world. He is
interviewed in Positif about this film.
