This film is apparently Les Hommes de la baleine (1956) re-released as Vive la baleine under the auspices of S.L.O.N. in 1972. (Some sources also list as 1970.)

Chris Marker did the voice over narration for this film. It is unclear from the sources whether this means he read the narration or wrote it, however given his history of writing commentaries the latter seems more likely. It is also unclear whether he is responsible for this on the re-released film and the original, though the literature seems to suggest his and S.L.O.N.'s involvement only in the latter.

Monaco et al list Marker as a director of this film.
